Watercolor Lip Blushing
Watercolor Lip Blushing is a new semi-permanent tattoo technique used to enhance the natural lip shape, symmetry, and color. A customized pigment is applied to add definition to your lips based on your skin tone and personal preference. Watercolor Lip blushing is for anyone looking to have the appearance of fuller lips, without the use of injections.
WHAT to expect
You may experience moderate swelling, redness, or bruising during the first 3 days
If you experience swelling, use an ice pack for no more than 15 minute increments to reduce swelling
During the healing process, there should be minimal peeling or flaking.
Allow the peeling to come off on its own - do not pick. This typically takes place during the first 3-5 days.
Expect the color to lighten up to 50-70% once the healing process is complete.
Color may appear uneven at different stages of healing. Be patient. This is a process that does not yield immediate results.
Watercolor Lip Blushing is expected to last 2-5 years, with touch up appointments needed within or after that time frame.
It can take 2 sessions prior to achieving the desired level of saturation.
One retouch appointment is included in the price as long as it is performed 4-8 weeks after the initial session.
A topical numbing cream is applied for your comfort.
Aftercare package is included
Before your Appointment:
Your lips cannot be dry for the appointment. If they are dry, we will need to reschedule. You may exfoliate 3 days before your appointment to remove any dry skin. You can use a lip scrub or create your own using a little honey and brown sugar. For the week leading up to the appointment you must moisturize your lips as much as possible (I recommend using aquaphor).
IMPORTANT:
Cold sores are a risk of lip blush tattoo. To help avoid a breakout of cold sores, we WILL NOT perform this service unless you are medicated with an anti-viral medication. You can speak to your doctor to get a prescription or take an over the counter medication even if you have never had a cold sore before. We recommend all clients take L-lysine, Zovirax, Valtrex, or Famvir, 2 days before the appointment, the day of, and 3 days following the appointment as directed and repeat on all visits for lip blushing to reduce the risk.
After your Appointment:
Lips will feel swollen and very dry after your treatment. Apply ointment on lips several times a day. This should be done for at least 14 days post treatment. Do not allow lips to become dry. This may interfere with healed color. During the day if lips feel dry, apply a liberal amount of ointment. Just tap on skin and do not rub in. Always use a clean Q-tip, not fingers to apply ointment to the lips area. This will reduce the risk of infection.
Lips heal in three stages: Too dark > Too light > Just right. This takes one month to happen. Please avoid any friction to lip area.
