What is Microblading?
A: Microblading is the semi-permanent cosmetic tattooing technique that applies pigment into the skin to create the most natural 3D hair-like strokes possible. Gemineye Studio specializes in creating fine hair-like strokes that match the color and shape of real eyebrow hair. After years in the fine art industry, we understand how to custom design each client’s eyebrows to best fit your personal brow bone structure and face shape. We mimic the shape and growth pattern of your natural brow hair, whether you have any natural hair or none at all.
Is it painful?
A: We will apply a topical numbing cream prior to treatment and will reapply numbing cream halfway through the procedure to ensure comfort. Pain tolerance is relative to how well your skin takes to the numbing cream. If you do feel anything, it will most likely feel as if you were having your eyebrows tweezed or it may feel like a scratch.
Will I be able to return to work right after the procedure?
A: Yes! You will be able to return to work or play with little to zero downtime. You may experience two things shortly after your procedure: tender brows once the numbing cream wears off (20 minutes after the procedure) and/or your brows may appear red. This will resemble redness from waxing your brows, for example. Other than that, your friends will begin to ask you what you did to reverse the aging process! Desire`s technique is so subtle and natural that people will notice that you look different but won’t be able to figure out what you’ve done to look so good. Bring on the compliments!
Do I have to remove my existing brow hair?
A: No, the artists at Gemineye Studio will design your brows using your existing brow hair.
Should I have my eyebrows waxed before my appointment?
A: You should refrain from waxing your brows for 48 hours prior to your appointment.
I am planning a tropical vacation. Can I have my eyebrows microbladed before I go?
A: There is nothing better than the feeling of waking up with natural, beautiful brows and not having to worry about your brows running off in the ocean or pool. However, you should book your microblading appointment at least 2 weeks prior to any vacation that will involve ocean water, artificially tanning, or sunbathing. This will allow your brows to go through the full 14 day healing process before your big trip.
How long is the healing process?
A: The healing process is 14 days. In those 14 days following your appointment, you will be given specific aftercare instructions and asked to follow them strictly. If you have other questions regarding aftercare, please contact us.
Will I need a follow up appointment?
A: The follow up appointment is recommended for two reasons:
· To make any necessary adjustments (fullness, shading/darken color, retouch strokes that may have faded more than others)
· To ensure that you are 100% satisfied with your results and in love with your brows after the initial healing process
The follow up (also called retouch) appointment is highly recommended. It is performed 6-8 weeks after your first microblading session and is included in the price. There is no charge for the follow up appointment as long as it is performed within the 6-8 weeks after your first session.
How long will results last?
With proper after care, results will last 12 months – 3 years, depending on skin type and skincare routine.
If you are a current client at Gemineye studio and it has been anywhere between 6 month - 3 years since your last appointment, an annual maintenance (color boost) appointment is recommend. Annual maintenance is $275.00+tax.
